Description
i have witnessed two near rear-ender collisions at night in the past ten days. 1. The turn comes after 3/4 mille of steep, twisty downhill road. 2. The macadam is dark gray. 3. There are no street lights in any direction 4. There are no warning signs that the sharp left turn is approaching 5. There are no signs when you arrive at the turn. One night, in fog, a car wanting to make that turn realized at the last second he was going past it, slammed on his breaks, and the overtaking car managed to swerve around him and barely avoided a rear-end collision, but almost crashed with an oncoming vehicle that was entering Fish Ranch Road from #24.
Two simple signs would help greatly: Highway 24 Oakland 2/10 mile LEFT ARROW, plus the same sign without the 2/10 mile, right at the turn. Both very reflective. At night it is very difficult to anticipate the turn, especially going downhill.
